For Children Ages 10-14 years.
In this group, youth will learn about and practice important social skills, such as initiating, maintaining and ending a conversation, how to join into an activity, phone calls and electronic communication, appropriate use of humour, and hosting a get together. This program is appropriate for youth who do better in smaller groups and require additional supports. They must be able to follow and understand one-step instructions independently, communicate using verbal requests, comments and questions, and can participate in a group setting without 1:1 support. Skills will be taught in a group format using Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) evidence based strategies.
